A Few of My Favorite Things.

Here is a list of things (websites mostly) that I have come across this past year and have made their way into my heart, so to say.

*Glamour.com: Love love love this magazine. Hands down my favorite. I starting subscribing to this magazine a couple of years ago and fell in love! I stopped my subscription last year (for a couple of reasons i.e. I didn't know if I could get subscriptions at college), but ever since then I go to the website daily, which has blog posts and some of the articles found in the magazine. I figure I should maybe stay eco-friendly and just but buy it every once and again...but who knows :)

*Vanity Fair: I also love this magazine. I never had an official subscription to it, but I have been buying a copy every once again for the past two years. The pictures are amazing, as well as the stories. Now I usually just go to the website, again to stay eco-friendly :)

*W Magazine: A new favorite, as of a couple of months ago. I fell in love with this magazine when I picked up the October issue with Anne Hathaway (one of my favs) on it. It's a very modern magazine, with focuses on design and society. Kind of a mix between Vanity Fair and Vogue.

*Yahoo: I have always been more of a Yahoo person rather than Google...mainly because that is where I got my first email address like in fifth grade. I try and check it daily, especially the news. And everything is so easy to find!

*Ruckus: The iTunes for college students! Love love love this music site. You have to have a valid college email, which of course, I do :) The only bad thing is that you can't download the songs to a cd or mp3 player for free. But I usually just download songs to my computer. I just downloaded Jack's Mannequin, Michael Buble, and Stereophonics albums last night...very exciting :)

So this is my list! I have more favs, but these top the list. Feel free to share your favs :)

Berry Chai Tea Infusion

After some speculation about this Starbucks beverage, I am here to clarify what Berry Chai Tea Infusion is.

A relatively new beverage for Starbucks (when you walk into them now, you may see advertisements for this beverage as "a new time for teatime"), it basically combines chai tea and berry juice together. And it can be ordered iced or hot, just like a regular cup of chai tea.

I would add a picture, but the beverage is so new there are hardly any ones out. But by visiting the Starbucks website, you can see what the hot Berry Chai Tea would look like.

I ordered the iced tea yesterday. At first it took me awhile to get used to the combination because both the berry juice and chai tea is evident. But I do plan on ordering it again!

A Very Historical (and snowy!) Day.

Well it may not have been snowing in D.C. today, but in Raleigh we got 5 inches! And it still keeps coming! Which means cancelled classes :)

As for the Presidential Inauguration, I was very impressed with everything: the million people gathered (which is supposedly the most ever), President Obama's speech, and the farewell between the Obama family and the Bush family.

Politics aside, my heart goes out to the the Former President and First Lady. It must have been so hard to hear President Obama's speech and to say farewell to Washington. It seems the the moving out of the White House and the farewell went a bit too fast for even me to process (As I am reading this I am watching the farewell). The news anchors are stating now how the Former President was trying to keep his spirits up as he says goodbye to all his staff. I thought his farewell was a very bittersweet moment to watch. And I almost teared up when one of the Bush's staff members was quoted saying "I love this man" (The news anchors were basically talking about how loyal and loving the staff were to Bush). Throughout this week, I have been reading articles that deal with past and present Inaugurations as well as the the Obama and Bush family. Here are some:

After a year or so of deleting my first Blogger account, I have decided to return! I'm pretty excited, considering I have more going on now than college applications and graduation. Plus with what I am looking to do with the rest of my life (design of some sort, possibly graphic), I think I should emerge myself back into the cyberworld. And it's always good to reconnect with people.

Deciding to come back was the easy part! It took me awhile to figure out the name of my blog. I decided on A Meredith Girl, because I attend of where I attend college (Meredith College) and I figure it was appropriate, at least for the next four years. And the figuring out the color scheme was another "dilemma" of sorts. Let's just say that being a perfectionist and indecisive person isn't the greatest when it comes to picking from a handful of colors! But I finally did it.

Hope to post more tomorrow, considering its the Presidential Inauguration! I'm not one for politics, but when it deals with fashion I am so tuned in! Will you be watching?
